About the event

Medicinal Vinegars & Oxymels

You can book and pay on my site or you can BOOK HERE (this link takes you to the Tablehurst Farm Events page where you can also book and pay for your workshop).

We've eventually come full circle... our ancestors' deep knowledge of natural remedies is being rediscovered and appreciated like never before.

Especially if you cannot take alcoholic tinctures, this workshop will show you how to extract and preserve the many and varied beneficial medicinal qualities of plants. Recipes for delicate yet potent home made medicinal vinegars and oxymels will lend you their power and confidence to support your and your family's health.

You'll go away with two gorgeous jars of precious herbal gifts you will have manifested during the workshop.

Coming from a long line of Greek medicine women, I have treasured the traditions handed down from my own great grandmother, rediscovered in long-forgotten, dog-eared, time-stained medicine journal pages.

What's included in the workshop cost:

  • Fresh organic/biodynamic produce (garlic, fresh and dried herbs and spices, raw apple cider vinegar)
  • Recipe sheets
  • Refreshments

What you can bring:

  • Your own favourite herbs, spices, honey and vinegar as well as your own jars (or purchase jars at the workshop).

What you need to bring:

  • chopping board*
  • sharp knife
  • apron
  • a bandana or scarf to keep hair out of the way
  • two x 500ml glass jars to take away the products they make at the workshop**
  • a pair of protective blue nitrile gloves, if sensitive to ginger, chillies, or garlic

What you can purchase at the workshop:

  • Raw Honey
  • (*) Beautifully crafted bespoke acacia hardwood chopping blocks are available to purchase at the workshop (pre-order here)
  • (**) Kilner clip-top jars are available to purchase at the workshop (pre-order here)
  • Fermentation weights are available to purchase at the workshop (bespoke, food-safe, double-kiln-fired, hand-made by a local master potter) (pre-order here)

Very limited spaces so please book early!
